The GT Milled Tooth Frac Plug bit is specifically designed and manufactured to perform in soft to medium-hard formations. The GT Frac Plug tricone bit delivers the high penetration rates and reliable durability drilling operators demand.
GT manufactures two types of frac bits: GT21 and GT31
GT21 – for drilling up to 40 composite plugs
GT31 – for drilling up to 70 composite plugs (the main difference between the 21 & 31 is the cutting structure)
The GT bearing package is as good as Varel’s and better than JZs, and the bits are available in 3 3/4″ to 4 7/8″. There are three body styles available:
- Jet – carbide on leg
- Center circulation on jet leg – carbide on leg
- Regular circulation (single hole in center of bit) – hardfacing on leg
